long time no write
Jun. 16th, 2020 09:01 pmBeen a few days, whoops!
Anyway. The world has been very... um... VERY.
I, in contrast, have been pretty boring. I think the most exciting thing that happened to me in the past week was Sunday afternoon when I fell off a stepladder while pruning my lilacs. Twice. *sigh*
My local library still isn't open open, but they're doing scheduled curbside pickups Monday-Wednesday-Friday, and drop-in lobby pickups Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday, so I should be able to pick up one of my hold requests this Thursday evening after work. Failing that, I'll grab it on Saturday.
The Red Cross has informed me that my most recent blood donation was sent to Silver Spring, Maryland. I like that they take the time to send those notifications. It makes blood donation feel like a more tangible source of doing good, you know? (On a very related note, I have scheduled my next donation appointment for July 28.)
I was at work today from 10am to 4pm despite Tuesday being one of my usual days off. This is so Miss California and Aunt Boss could spend several hours out dressing, photographing, and making video tours of several apartments while still having someone in the office. We will repeat the trick next week when we have a professional photographer coming from [redacted] to take videos and photos of six apartments -- we don't actually have enough model apartment paraphernalia to dress all the necessary rooms, so Miss California will be running around breaking down apartments as soon as the photographer is done and carting the stuff over to dress apartments a bit later on the shooting schedule.
On Saturday, my parents, my brother, and my mom's friend Mary had a Zoom dinner. It was pretty cool, and we've agreed to schedule another one at some point.
I dug out a couple more old window screens to put over various planters in an attempt to stop the local wildlife from digging them up. (I have run out of carrot seeds after replanting so many times. I also had to replant jalapenos yet again. *sigh*) I've also been watering the outside plants at random intervals, since the past week and change has been oddly dry.
I have vague intentions of installing some ceiling hooks tomorrow so I can hang some more plants and clear space on my kitchen table, which is currently half-overrun by greenery. We'll see how that pans out.
And I think that's pretty much everything.
