1. Mom Boss would be my direct supervisor, rather than Lawyer Man or either member of the accounting department. That is definitely a point in the pro column!
(Reading between the lines, it sounds like there's an effort to ease the senior downtown rental manager out the door, though at the moment she's officially on a six-week medical leave. This is admittedly a jerk move. On the other hand, her reflexive opposition to trying new things is one major reason why the downtown office has been stuck in a rut for years and this is maybe less harsh than outright firing her? (The other reason the downtown office is having problems is... kind of an even split between Lawyer Man's tendency to focus on firefighting rather than on developing standard procedures to handle future problems before they grow into crises, and unexpected intrusions from Company Owner and his inner circle.))
2. I have been poking around the downtown office's half of our website and I just... *muffled screaming*
All their floor plans are weird little Adobe Flash programs! Who even DOES that? Flash isn't even SUPPORTED anymore! And the programs don't do anything useful, like act as 3D models or let you play around with furniture configurations, so what is even the POINT of not just having a static image?
They turn the entire listing text bold and red when an apartment rents instead of just making a bold red note that it's been rented and leaving the actual apartment description readable for prospective future tenants!
Their apartment photos are-- are-- I don't even have words for how bad some of them are! There are trash cans in sinks! There are photos that show one and a half pieces of furniture and nothing about the room those items are in! Bedrooms are mislabeled as closets are mislabeled as bathrooms are mislabeled as views from windows! (It is screamingly obvious which apartments Miss Cactus had time to re-photograph herself. She knows how to frame useful shots of rooms to give a sense of how a space fits together while also making things look attractive and inviting. Whoever was doing photos before her-- *makes obscene gestures*)
I am now professionally pissed off. This is TERRIBLE. I want to fix it!
But ye gods and little fishes, that is A LOT TO FIX.
