some stuff

Things done today:
1. Mailed some letters.
2. Ordered a thermometer, which I will apparently need for doing at-home wellness checks before all Not the IRS shifts. (I do currently own two thermometers, but they're old-as-the-hills mercury and glass jobs and I can't actually get a useful reading out of them, which is, shall we say, not ideal.)
3. Two hours of paid training for Not the IRS, blargh. I might log back in to finish later this evening, but there's only so much I can take in one sitting, particularly when some of it is WORD FOR WORD the same damn module as the previous few years. *headdesk*
I mean, I am glad we now have harassment training modules and diversity support modules! These are good things to have! But I think people are more likely to pay attention if you tweak them a little each year so the mandatory annual training feels less pro forma, you know?
4. Not actually a thing from today, but yesterday I think I fixed the leak in my toilet. What seems to have happened is that a rubber seal between the tank and the toilet part had started to fray, and whenever I flushed the toilet, some of the water that was trying to go from the tank into the bowl instead poured/dripped down the back onto the floor. So yesterday evening I turned off the water, drained the tank as best I could, yanked out the disintegrating bits of the seal, and filled the gaps with Gorilla glue.
Then I had to use my shower as a toilet for about sixteen hours, which was a weird experience I would prefer not to repeat. :/
But the leak seems to be resolved, at least for now, which is the main point. :)
5. Requested some clarifications on my mom's holiday wish list, since a bunch of the example pictures my dad sent to me and Nick didn't come through, and some of the other items are extremely vague.
