wherein Liz starts untangling a problem

Back in... August, I think? yeah, August sounds right... Mr. Geniality and I agreed to split the advertising part of our job as follows:
1. I handle all ads on sites A, B, and C. I also respond to all inquiries that come to us via sites A, B, and C, as well as inquiries that come directly via the contact form on our website.
2. Mr. Geniality handles all ads on site D and responds to all inquiries that come to us via site D.
3. I reply to online applications that come to us without a prior inquiry.
4. Mr. Geniality answers the phone unless he's already on the phone or handling someone in-person, in which case I am his backup. (I can do cheerful and informative phone interactions, but it doesn't come naturally to me; Mr. Geniality is much more of a people person.)
5. We bcc each other on all inquiry-response emails so we know what we've been offering to whom. We also have mutual access to each other's work Outlook calendar and can schedule each other for tours and such.
6. I maintain the tour and inquiry spreadsheet because it's easier for me to own that than it is for us to trade back and forth.
...
Parts 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 have been working out fine. Part 2 is the problem. I've already taken over replying to most site D inquiries. This is not much of an issue, since I've created some decent template responses that I can just copypaste and then tweak a little for each inquiry. Mr. Geniality only has to deal with the ones that, for whatever reason, don't make it to my email inbox. (Site D is a little weird about email notifications sometimes.)
The real problem is the ads on site D. Today Mom Boss sent me and Mr. Geniality an email asking to make sure they're up to date since Company Owner is visiting this weekend and currently is fretting about our ad presence. So I went to take a look, and, well. In summary, it's bad.
I spent a significant portion of my afternoon fixing some of that.
I think fixing the rest is going to eat most of my Saturday as well. *sigh* And here I was hoping to work on apartment staging, photos, and videos instead. I guess that will have to wait for Wednesday.
---------------
In unrelated news, we were planning for my parents to visit on Sunday for my very abbreviated takeout birthday lunch. (Usually we do a concert and a fancy dinner. For obvious reasons, that is not in the cards this year.) However, the weather forecast currently predicts snow on Sunday, so we may postpone to Wednesday (my actual birthday!) or Thursday and I'll just take a very long lunch break from work.
We shall see how it goes.
ETA, 9:30pm: Sunday is off. We'll try for Wednesday, weather permitting.

Date: 2021-02-09 05:54 pm (UTC)Trying to sort out "The tenants in the room above mine are exercising loudly and the noise keeps interrupting my Zoom classes." or "Somebody is smoking in the lounge but I don't want to say who because then they'll know I told and will try to retaliate," or "I hear somebody intermittently screaming but I'm not sure which apartment it's coming from, so can you just psychically know who it was and make sure they're okay/make them stop?" or "This person sexually harassed me and forced me to walk in on them in the bathroom (no, I didn't try knocking on the door, why do you ask?)" and things of that ilk is what gives me metaphorical hives.
I'm also not fond of, "There is a clear answer to your problem and it is that you should have called me about it two days ago so we'd have time to plan and schedule some things. Right now, there is nothing to do except wait until Monday," situations, where the problem wouldn't have been a problem at all if the tenant had exercised a tiny bit of foresight and now thinks everything is my fault because I can't summon rabbits out of a hat. *headdesk*
(Sorry for venting. I am just a little stressed these days.)
