other things from today

1. Landlord Dude replaced the bulb in my living room overhead light fixture (which requires a ladder taller than my generic stepladder to reach), and unclogged my bathroom sink drain. Unfortunately he was unable to stop the leak from the bathroom sink faucet, and has concluded that the entire faucet attachment needs to be replaced because it's about forty years old and badly corroded. So he's coming back tomorrow to handle that.
2. I was only at work for about 3 hours today, which is okay since I wound up working 5 hours on Tuesday instead of my planned 4 hours. I may tweak next week's schedule somewhat similarly, or at least see if I can do a little overtime on Tuesday to hopefully finish up staging, photographs, and video for our final apartment turnovers.
Also we had two apartments come available unexpectedly -- one of our potential holdover tenants left with no fuss, and an incoming tenant abruptly backed out -- so right before I locked up for the night, I sent an email to the ~50 people on our waitlist saying, essentially, "Hey, we have two rooms, they're super-low end dorm-style rooms but if you want them, please follow these two simple steps. We will send lease documents to anyone who has completed those steps by noon on Saturday."
So we'll see what my inbox looks like tomorrow morning. *wry*
3. We still didn't get a thunderstorm (one threatened several times yesterday, and I briefly heard distant thunder this afternoon), but we did get a little rain and the heat wave has finally started to break. Which is nice, because this past week stepping outside of any air-conditioned refuge has felt like stepping into a sauna that hates me on a deep personal level.
I am so done with summer.
