1. Today I had two clients no-show me at Not the IRS, but my third client was on-time and restful as always. Actually, they were even better than restful -- they were great! See, they got married and had a baby this past year (I saw pics! adorable tiny grumpy bean!), and I always like to see people doing well. :)

Also a person whose return I had on hold finally acquired their missing Social Security paperwork so we were able to finish that up. It's always good to get things squared away and not hanging over my head generating annoyed overdue messages. *wry*

2. In other news, Company Owner called an unexpected meeting of all rental company staff for 4pm today. I assumed it would be bad news, but it turned out he wanted to give us all impromptu bonuses because the world has been difficult recently (...understatement) and we've all been working hard (...also an understatement). I showed up 15 minutes late because I had to drive down from Not the IRS after my final appointment, but I was able to collect my check and thank him.

3. Tonight I had gas station fried chicken and leftover green bean casserole for dinner. Sometimes cheap, greasy gas station fried chicken is what a body needs, you know?

4. In completely unrelated news, I am deeply annoyed at today's New York Times crossword. The whole point of the theme was "two", so why translate that into the letter T instead of the numeral 2? The whole pun falls apart! I had to use the check answer function and break my streak! I don't CARE if it's not done to have numerals in crosswords; using one this time is the only rational solution!

...

On the bright side, I found every available word in today's Spelling Bee puzzle, so ha.

I am miffed with the NYT crossword from the other day that instead of using a blank square for the blank space in the answers, or the alt letter, some moron thought it would be hilarious to use the rebus "nothing". Why? Why would you do something so stupid? Broke my three year streak.
