I worked in the Collegetown office today rather than the downtown office -- this is part of rebalancing after I basically ditched Collegetown throughout August. Also, Ctown is opening for new rentals TOMORROW, so today was full of necessary prep work.
We are much less prepared than usual, which is partly because the rental season keeps creeping earlier and earlier in the year (Cornell students are afraid of losing their chance at good off-campus housing, and landlords start renting early to meet that demand, which creates a completely artificial panic and time crunch for EVERYONE INVOLVED), but also because Company Owner has been reluctant to decide on apartment prices. In the end, Aunt Boss basically priced all the studios herself and rejiggered a number of other prices so we'd have something to work with.
I stayed 45 minutes late to get all extant prices posted and make sure that no unavailable apartments are displaying on the website. Tomorrow the plan is for me to arrive around 9:30am. If we're swamped, I will probably work all day in Collegetown, but if rentals are more of a slow-but-steady pace, I may swap to the downtown office around 2pm. We shall see.

I think I'm going to do some tax CE and then fall into bed.

Date: 2022-09-08 01:48 am (UTC)Fortunately downtown rentals run at a much slower pace than Collegetown so opening day isn't the same kind of EVENT, but we still have to go through the same process of sending out renewal emails, processing tenant responses, posting new ads, and so on. We also have literally NO downtown apartment prices yet -- Company Owner's reluctance strikes again, alas! -- which makes responding in inquiries an exercise in frustration.
