Six hour shift at Not the IRS today. I had an unexpected client at noon, which was nice, and then I slogged my way through a bunch of belated client relations training modules, at the end of which the training program FINALLY coughed up access to the specific module I need to complete in order to access the pot of money I can use to do friends' returns for free.

I did not actually complete that module yet, because it requires role-playing a bunch of conversations and phone calls and I was not in the mood, but I can probably power through that over the next few days.

I think I mentioned that I have been taking a Coursera class on medieval female Christian spirituality, right? ("A Voice of Their Own: Women's Spirituality in the Middle Ages," offered by the Universitat de Barcelona) I finished the third week tonight, which included the first written assignment. I don't know how well I did on that, but then again, I am not doing this for any kind of credit -- it's mostly just idle curiosity and wanting to learn some random stuff.

I was going to do laundry tonight -- I gathered all my supplies together last night and got everything ready to just haul the cart out the door -- but then I remembered that I also needed to buy groceries and gas, and it would be sensible to do that right after work since my Not the IRS office is literally part of the same shopping complex as my grocery store (and my grocery store is also my gas station). So I did that instead of laundry, on the basis that one chore per day is quite enough to be getting on with, especially when it's also recycling night and I had to schlep all that nonsense out to the curb for pickup at 4am.

Anyway, I handwashed another item to tide me over and MONDAY I really will grit my teeth and venture forth to the laundromat. *sigh*
