I may be made full-time at the store soonish, since A. has found another job with better health benefits. Full-time work 1: pays better (both because of increased hours and increased hourly wages), 2: has actual health benefits (minimal though they may be, it's better than going uninsured and betting that I won't get sick or have serious accidents), and 3: carries more responsibilities, and would thus look better on my resume.

Anyway, nothing is certain yet, but I have my fingers crossed!

Also, I have read vols. 1-17 of X/1999, and oh my GOD, that's depressing. It's pretty, it sucked me in, it made me spend several hours pondering some awkward philosophical/ethical questions, and I think I have fallen in love with Subaru and Seishirou for the twisted beauty of their relationship (or non-relationship; whatever), but still, my overwhelming impression is OUCH. Ouch, ouch, and just ouch.

CLAMP really like to go after readers' heartstrings with a chainsaw, don't they?

....don't they ever. They seem to have a thing for heartwrenching twists. X being just one example. And sometimes, it just gets made worst because the reader can see ways to mitigate the hurt, at least. ...and even the fluffy sugar stuff like CCS has its rip-your-heart-out-and-stomp-on-it moments.
