I have printed out my boarding pass, bought gum (see, I do learn from my mistakes!), packed pretty much everything, asked my landlords to water my plants and bring in my mail, reserved a taxi for 2:30pm, withdrawn cash in the right denominations to pay for the taxi, returned my library books, called Susan to wish her a happy birthday (I mailed her present yesterday), and gathered my trash and recycling to put out.

All I have left to do is eat lunch and close half my curtains. I think I'm ready for vacation. :-)

My internet access will probably be sporadic over the next week, assuming we can figure out how to hook Vicky's laptop to our dinky cabin modem in the first place. I find I don't much care. :-)

And if that means I miss the deadline for

femgenficathon, I'm very sorry, and I promise I'll write two stories to make up for that. I expect I'll be doing some writing on planes and in airport lounges already, so I might as well see if I can beat any of my EIGHT false starts into functionality. :-)

I seem to be very smiley today.

Good god, I have needed this vacation. :-)

Thank you! It turns out there will be no internet access, because the modem cord cannot physically plug into Vicky's laptop. *sigh* Still, there will be boats and hiking and swimming, so I think, all in all, I'll have a great time anyway. :-)
