I do not, in fact, have a new computer.

I had a delivery and set-up appointment scheduled for 5:30pm yesterday. I got a confirmation call on Thursday. So at 5:30 I started waiting. I wasn't really annoyed until 6:30, because tech people always seem to run late. By 7:30, I was ticked off.

It turns out that although my appointment existed in somebody's database -- I did get that confirmation call -- it never made it into GeekSquad's own database. And then it seems to have vanished from the local Best Buy store's database as well.

So the guy at the store said he'd email the guy who does the schedules, who was supposed to call me today to reschedule.

As of 5:30pm, he has not called.

I have to go home and sign my apartment lease for next year, but then I'm calling Best Buy again. This time, I want RESULTS. (Especially since I don't have a lot of schedule flexibility; I'm working a lot of evening shifts lately, so I don't have free afternoons to wait for these people to show up.)

In other news, I transfered more money into my savings account (yay interest!) and got an application for a credit card. I dunno how much I'd ever use a credit card -- I have done just fine with cash and a debit card for seven years now -- but it's probably good to have one, just to establish a credit history based on more than my electric bill payments.

In other other news, today is my dad's birthday! *throws virtual confetti* I got his card off on time, but his present (two pounds of coffee, one an espresso roast, one a dark French roast) will be delayed by a week or so, since I have to pull it together and make sure I have the right size box for mailing it.
