So it's Turkey Day. I managed to get out of most of the cooking, but I'll probably end up dragooned into setting the table. Cleaning the basement is a great excuse for avoiding food-type things. (It's not that I can't cook, but I'm not terribly fond of it.)

Have found a second Brit-picker. Yay! Have also started reading Paradise Lost, which is damn cool; I like it as much as The Faerie Queene, though the two poems are very different. Do people write epic poetry anymore? I'm trying to think of plays in poetic form or epic poems written after 1700, and I'm not coming up with any. Perhaps I'm just ignorant, but it seems to me that somewhere in the eighteenth century, novels began to dominate the long-story field.

As something is still wrong with my computer and search engines (for some reason, I can't get them to work at all), and I therefore cannot find anything online on my own anymore, I am going to bring my collected works of Robert Frost back to Ithaca with me. I need that for "In a Yellow Wood" and "All the Difference," for obvious reasons, and I also badly want to write something based on "West-Running Brook," which is one of the coolest poems ever written. Very deep, very true, and somehow not pretentious about it. *loves Robert Frost*

I should probably be doing the final edit on "Secrets," but right now I can't make myself care. Ah well. Back to Paradise Lost, then.

Was suckered into making noodles anyway, as Vicky and I don't eat stuffing/dressing/whatever you call that icky mess with the bread crumbs you put inside the turkey. Bah.

They were good noodles, too. And the turkey was good turkey. And my mom bought black olives and I love her forever! Plus bean caserole. It isn't Thanksgiving without the bean caserole.

We're letting the food settle before dessert. And I snuck off and did some more mending. I also started crocheting a sort of cord which will go into the waistband of my black pajama pants after I tear out the broken elastic. *busy busy sewing*
