I'm STILL not completely happy with the second fight scene, but I think it's now about 90 to 95% of what I wanted it to be, instead of 60 or 70%. And the inbetween stuff kind of grew, until the final match got pushed off to chapter 16. *sigh* So it goes.

I present, for your reading pleasure, Chapter the Fifteenth, in which Yukiko flummoxes everyone, Iruka plays with fire, Shinkan has something up her sleeve, Naruto is actually quiet (briefly), and Kakashi continues to annoy the heck out of people.

Two days ago, I read Magic Street by Orson Scott Card. I am in love. This is the OSC I've been missing for the past few years. He's really not at his best writing series fiction. All his books that I love the best are self-contained... with the exception of Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead, and since those were kind of conceived separately, and really don't share a plotline, they almost count as self-contained. (I am not including any of the other "Ender" books, because they all feel kind of thin and attenuated to me, which is how most of OSC's books go when they're not self-contained.)

Um. When I have a steady job again, I am SO buying a copy for myself.
