Dude. I just mailed off a 4 and a quarter page translation, for which I will theoretically be paid eighty-five dollars. For five hours of work, which was actually kind of fun. I really hope they approve of my work, and have some other things they want translated.
You know, the one thing I really miss about college is having people around with whom to speak German. Granted, I speak German very badly, but that's mostly due to lack of practice. I used to be able to carry on coherent conversations, and even spout off on literary theory. *sigh*
(Well, and I miss chem labs too. I have fond memories of analyzing the nitrogen content of various random samples, and practicing... um... name escapes me... x-ray fluoroscopy, perhaps? on toothpaste.)
Also, I am now the proud owner of a birthday present for my mom, a new pot for my snake plant, a black wool-and-something-stretchy blend skirt, and a funky leather belt that may actually work with my khaki pants. Working at church garage sales is FUN!
