The Narnia Fic Exchange 2012 is starting! You can sign up here if you are interested.

Dates are as follows:

Sign-ups open: 11 June
Sign-ups end: 20 June
Prompts sent out: 25 June
Fics due: 28 July
Posting begins: 5/6 August

This is a gift exchange in which you produce a 1000-word minimum story for your recipient. Stories are posted anonymously one per day until all have gone up, at which point authors are revealed. (Possibly they will go up at a rate of two per day if participation is high!) I had a lot of fun with this last year (...okay, so I also ran nearly a week over deadline and about killed myself from sheer frustration, but it was good screaming frustration, if you know what I mean), and the average story quality has been quite high. So if you have any interest in Narnia fandom, why not come play?

I arrived at the smoke shop expecting to work with JM and BW, but instead found JM and PM (my manager) changing what seemed like a third of the light fixtures in the store. It turns out that when BW came in this morning, he was in terrible shape -- clutching his chest and saying he couldn't breathe -- but he refused to go home, or even to sit down and stop running himself ragged, until PM arrived on her way to the Elmira store and ordered him home. Before you ask, it is apparently a lung thing rather than a heart attack, but given that BW said something to the effect of having had surgery for this problem sometime before, I am still pretty worried!

So that was my excitement-by-proxy for the day.
