So, thoughts on the story.

( go read the story first, please! )
(P.S. The conclusion I used for Lucy's folktale -- "and if they have not died, they may still be there today" -- is actually a typical phrase from Hungarian folktales. The Russian variant runs more like, "I was there at the feast and they gave me soup to drink, but it ran down my beard and not into my mouth," which clearly doesn't fit Lucy as the narrator. Also I think the Hungarian ending just flows better. Please forgive this minor inauthenticity!)
1. "Secrets" progress = 200 words, for a new total of 7,500. In other words, I finished Xanthe's letter. Now I have to figure out how Ginny will react.

2. Today was AS's second training day at the smoke shop. Things seem to be progressing well! I got to do some actual training instead of being out in the back room all the time like I was yesterday.
-----
3. I got off work at 5pm today, so after lunch (my schedule is offset several hours toward the night, okay?) I drove to the mall and bought seven long-sleeved shirts at Target, to replace a bunch of plain, solid-color long-sleeved shirts I bought from L.L. Bean back in high school. Those shirts served me long and well, but a few years ago they started to get ragged and by the end of last winter they were seriously tatty around the hems and seams. So I found something serviceable and bought copies in various colors. Probably these shirts will only last half as long (if that), but they are cheap and convenient which is good enough for now.
