I didn't sleep terribly well last night, and I am still exhausted and stuffy and coughing and sound like a dying frog, but I was functional enough to make it in to work this morning. We'll see how the day plays out.

You know one of the nicest things about this job? I get paid time off. Not lots! And it's a single pool that handles both sick days and vacations, so I have to portion it carefully, but still. Paid time off! So I lost hours from Friday when I bailed during the day, but I will still get paid for Saturday and Monday despite having spent them at home in bed wishing very hard that bodies weren't a thing.

Also we seem to have rented a few apartments while I was gone, which is good. I rearranged our floor plan displays to get rid of the ones that are no longer available. I also updated our whiteboard calendars to get rid of February and create May -- apparently nobody does that when I'm not around? Well, whatever.

I also must make a note that Miss California and I should switch over our counter display this weekend. I wanted to do that last week, but for obvious reasons (see above in re: lying in bed wishing I didn't exist) that plan fell through. But! Onward to clover and maybe some raindrops.

What I did at work today:

-updated our whiteboard calendars

-rearranged our floorplan wall displays to reflect current availability

-walked all around Collegetown taking photos of some new lamppost banners put up by the neighborhood business association

-took down all our paper heart decorations in anticipation of Mr. Owner coming to our office for a visit/meeting. I had to hastily chuck the last several handfuls into a box and kick it under my desk since I ran out of time to gently remove all the tape, and am still working to get those fixed and put away in their storage envelope

-staffed the office effectively alone for an hour and a half during the meeting, in which I devoutly hope Mom Boss and Aunt Boss convinced Mr. Owner to take several necessary actions

-updated a whole bunch of online ads to reflect new prices, new availability, and the current special deal (rather than February's special deal)

-delivered hardcopy lease documents to some renewal tenants who keep not getting around to actually signing their new leases

-took a group of prospective tenants on an apartment tour and then patiently waited for about 40 minutes while they discussed options among themselves and called their parents. They did ultimately decide to rent and made their down payment \o/

-and also the usual package stuff and phone stuff and occasional rent check processing, which are the background of any day

...

Now if you'll excuse me, I shall resume gently removing Scotch tape from paper hearts. *sigh*
