Things and stuff and so on and so forth:

1. Attended the livestream of my congregation's Sunday worship service. Decided not to attend the subsequent virtual coffee hour Zoom meeting.

2. Changed linens.

3. Washed and dried laundry. UGH, LAUNDRY.

4. Baked savory cheese bread, because I needed to do something with the second half of the 2-cup bag of shredded mozzarella, and also it's good to have bread around to accompany soup.

5. Took my trash can out to the curb for pickup.

6. Called my parents to check in. They are doing fine! My Aunt Cara is doing less fine, by which I mean she is all at sixes and sevens and caught in an anxiety spiral, not that she is physically ill. Mom is doing her best to reassure her and talk her through some useful practical steps, but it's a little hard to do that over the phone. (I am not sure if they've tried Zoom. Mom's not the greatest at technology, but she's willing to learn and try stuff out. Aunt Cara is... less so. *sigh*)

7. Roasted the eggplant I'd been meaning to deal with for the past few days. The delay meant that chunks of it had gone a bit funny, but whatever, I sliced them away and the rest was fine.

8. Wrote ~425 words of the Narnia/Naruto crossover, which went slightly sideways to what I thought was going to happen, but I'm not going to complain about logistics or about giving Shizune more of a speaking role.

9. I received my new glasses in the mail on Thursday, but there's always a period of adjustment with new glasses, where your sense of visual perspective goes slightly to moderately out-of-whack -- in this particular case, I've had a persistent sense that I have shrunk by a foot and a half, though that might also be some tiredness and a vague sense of out-of-body experience -- so I didn't wear them to work on Friday. I've been using this weekend to get used to the new prescription, and I think I've pretty much settled in.

The lenses are larger than my old ones, though about the smallest I could find of the styles available at the eye doctor's office -- I am not a fan of the current fashion for big obvious lenses and frames -- which I think may be a good aesthetic choice after all, since they make my face look a little more proportionate instead of pinched in a bit near the eyes. (I am VERY nearsighted, and as such there's an intense refraction distortion effect for anyone looking at my face -- what you see through my glasses is displaced as much as an entire centimeter from what you see around them.)

Anyway, moving on! Cat and I have arranged a phone date for this evening, and I think I will go prepare for that now. :)
