Okay. I've now watched the first 3 seasons (or series, I suppose -- another case of transatlantic vocabulary miscues) of the new Doctor Who.
I may or may not do some sort of vaguely organized reaction post at some point in the next few days or weeks, but for now, I would just like to say that I love the show, stupid cheesy bits and all, and I really, really hope they release season box sets of the old show, and that of all the script writers they have working, I really think Steven Moffat is the best (not that any of them are bad, exactly, but I think he hits the perfect notes most consistently).
*firm nod*
Right. Now, off to dive headfirst into fanfiction!

Date: 2008-03-01 01:47 am (UTC)(Nitpick: The first three seasons of Doctor Who ran in 1963-1965, and starred William Hartnell and Peter Troughton as the Doctor. The seasons running 2005-2007 are seasons 27-29.)

Date: 2008-03-01 07:13 pm (UTC)Please note the word 'new.' This means I am talking about the current show, not the old one -- and yes, I know they're the same show, by one view, but by another view they're two separate iterations of the same basic story idea. Technicalities cut both ways! :-)
(Sorry for sounding snippy. Am too tired to spend ten minutes fiddling this response into being polite.)
Er... Unrelated, but
Date: 2008-03-02 10:35 am (UTC)Um... I don't know anything about Doctor Who, so tell me about it, if you feel like it. I'm certainly not motivated enough to actually go out and figure it out (guh, so many characters....confusing) so.... yeah. And yes, this certainly an invitation to gush/fangirl about something to someone, without them actually complaining XD.
Re: Er... Unrelated, but
Date: 2008-03-02 04:02 pm (UTC)My thoughts are not yet organized enough to gush about Doctor Who to anyone, not really -- and besides, I'm still so unclear about all the decades of story that came before the new series! so exciting to think about all the stuff I still have to explore! -- but thank you kindly for your offer. I may take you up on it some other time. :-)
