ways to enliven an afternoon at work

I often think that nothing happens in Ithaca. Occasionally, though...
I was taking a deposit to the local HSBC branch this afternoon (we cash out the registers twice a day), as well as a bundle of cash to replenish the change drawer. As I crossed the Buffalo-Tioga intersection, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that there were several people standing on the sidewalk, but that didn't actually register as significant until I'd tried to open the bank's door and discovered that it was locked. A small, handwritten sign announced that the bank was closed temporarily. It gave no reason. I was about to try swiping a charge card to open the door...
And then I realized that at least two of the bystanders were cops. Apparently someone had robbed the bank just 20 minutes before I got there.
...
Interesting times!
ETA: They seem to have caught the robber now.
