1. My friend Andrew was in Ithaca this weekend, to pick up his sister for a family Easter dinner, so we did breakfast this morning. He actually called me as I was getting up Saturday morning, while I was still half-asleep, so it took me until several hours later to realize that even though I was working 12-9pm yesterday, we could still do something today. I hardly ever see him, so it would've been a shame to miss him while he was in town.

2. Cat, I gave him your cell phone number, since he only had the number for your parents' home phone. Sorry if you didn't want him to have it!

3. On Thursday night, walking home from the computer lab (way too late, but remember, I thought I was going to have Friday off!), I saw an opossum in the graveyard. I'd never seen one in the flesh, so to speak. At first I thought it was a woodchuck/groundhog, since I'd seen a few in that area before, but its face was wrong for a woodchuck. And its tail was really wrong for a woodchuck. After a few seconds of blinking and wondering if I needed a new glasses prescription even more than I'd thought, I realized it was an opossum. It scuttled across the road and into a small wooded area, but I did have nearly a minute's worth of clear view.

4. I have started actively writing "Guardian" again, after taking a sort of hiatus. (I was still doing planning and background work, but I just couldn't get any narrative onto the screen.) It's just a small snippet of a sceen with Eiji and his family, but it was good to get back into that, and I do like the Amane family dynamics, both internal and external.

5. Yesterday, I discovered that the shop had a copy of Naomi Novik's His Majesty's Dragon, and promptly bought it. So far, I like it quite a lot. Imagine the Napoleonic wars... plus dragons. *bounces in excitement*
