Shoot me now, please.
I finally got around to starting the sequel to "Tides," which is titled, with my usual vast imaginative skill, "Leaves." We begin in River Country, with plans for an assassination mission, as seen by Sakura. I might be done with that chapter by next weekend.
Also, chapter 16 of "The Way of the Apartment Manager" is now half-finished. The final fight scene is kind of anemic, but I figure I can go back and spruce it up once I get the rest written. Then there's just chapter 17, and I'm done! *Liz takes a moment to savor that thought*
I have far too many WIPs: "Secrets," "Apartment Manager," "Lemonade," and "Leaves" are the big ones. "Strange Likenesses" is still on hiatus, but I should haul it out for Halloween, especially in light of the wonderful Tom Riddle backstory in HBP. "The Guardian in Spite of Herself" will go into the queue once "Apartment Manager" finishes, but fortunately that's a shorter story. (I hope.) And "Locked Room Problems" is not a chaptered story, but I want it done before the end of September, and hopefully within the next two weeks. (But sex scenes are massively embarrassing to write and they're a logistical nightmare, especially when both participants are the same sex, so you can't just differentiate with pronouns. *grumble*)
"More or Less the Same" doesn't count, because it exists only for my own amusement. And the other HP one-shots I have floating around unfinished on my hard drive also don't count, because they haven't gelled enough for me to make any sort of regular progress on them.
I figure I'll be doing a lot of writing this coming week, since I'll be in Jersey, won't be in much of a position to job-hunt, and really want some of these stories off my back. Feel free to yell at me if I don't have a fair amount of stuff up soon. :-)
Then I can get back to Ekanu, my novel, and "Finding Marea," all of which might actually make me money someday. A girl can dream...
-----------------------------------------
My landlords have moved out, and I seem to have new downstairs neighbors already. Thus far, I have not had a good opportunity to greet them, but I plan to knock on their door tomorrow morning, before I head off for Madison. (Damnit, if I'd known there would be people in the house, I wouldn't have bothered to stop my mail. *grumble*)

Date: 2005-09-03 07:51 pm (UTC)"Lemonade" is a completely insane crossover of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gundam Wing, and Naruto, in which Faith, Duo Maxwell, and Uchiha Sasuke get sucked into a hell dimension and have to find their way home.
"Finding Marea" is an original story.
"Locked Room Problems" is another insane crossover, in which Giles (from Buffy) gets trapped inside a central American temple with Indiana Jones, and a demonic fertility goddess forces them to have sex. Yes, really.
"Strange Likenesses" is a story I started... oh, a year ago? It's a Harry Potter alternate universe fic, in which Voldemort doesn't drift around for ten years, waiting for Quirrell to stumble across him. Instead, he notices his link to Harry, and tries to possess Harry. It goes rather badly wrong.
