Monday night: rented and watched The Bourne Identity with Susan

Tuesday night: watched The Bourne Supremacy with Susan

Conclusion: Matt Damon makes a surprisingly effective action hero; he has the "never overact" thing down cold, which helps ground the implausible stuff in a veneer of realism.

Further Conclusion: Matt Damon should wear tank tops more often. Mmmm, shoulders...

Matt Damon. Why yes, he does have nice shoulders :) We watched the last hour or so of the Bourne Identity on TV a few months ago. Pretty good stuff.

Agreed. :) The Bourne Supremacy was/is one of my favorite movies to watch.

The action scenes are a little hard to follow -- the director is too fond of jiggling the camera (which I guess is intended to increase tension, or simulate the confusion of a fight, but mostly just makes my eyes hurt) -- but I really, really like the storyline.

Plus, well, Matt Damon is hot. And the Russian assassin guy isn't bad looking either. :-D

I tried watching The Borne Identity after reading the book and watching an older made-for-TV version movie. The old version goes by the book for the most part. The new movie confused me to no end. I eventually just shut it off. Got halfway through Surpremacy and kinda forgot what all had happened and stopped reading. The movie is like a toned down, modernized, cut for time, version of the book. If book/movie differences don't bother you too much, I suggest reading it.

Book/movie differences only bother me when the changes are contrary to the spirit of the original work, or when they flat-out don't work. So I might get around to reading it, someday, but thrillers (and political/spy stuff) aren't my usual thing. *shrug*
