Today we talked about fears and ways to deal with them. Apparently the kids were supposed to come in their pajamas and bring their stuffed animals or dolls, but I missed the message and brought neither a bathrobe nor Boris. (Boris Borisovitch is my alligator. Yes, I sleep with a stuffed animal. Mock me and DIE.)

Anyway, we stuck pictures of scary animals on the wall and the kids rated them with color-coded stickers. The general consensus was that the vampire bat was creepiest, but the snakes, lizard, crab, and tarantula were a little creepy too. The roaches and the unidentified insect got no votes, and they seemed to think the bear was more cuddly than scary. (It probably didn't help that the bear in question was trying to hide behind a skinny tree and looked deeply surprised to be photographed.)

After that, they decorated paper stars with glow-in-the-dark paint and glitter, which made a mess. The paint was a lot easier to clean than glue, though. And I am now the proud owner of black wool pants with a glow-in-the-dark cuff. *sigh* The stuff claims to be water soluble; I hope that's not false advertising.

Normally I have a bit of food when the kids eat their snack, but today they had apples so I went hungry. Food allergies are no fun at all.

I never had a stuffed animal. (I slept with a baby pillow instead. My grandma made it for me when my mom got pregnant.
Then the pillow started getting thinner and thinner till it looked more like a rag than a pillow and in the end it kinda died. I still sleep hugging an extra pillow though.)
