housing! yay!

I have a room for next year!
*does the happy dance of acquired housing*
*stops when she realizes that people can see in her windows from across the alley*
*feels sheepish*
Anyway, it's in the house in front of my current house (that is to say, it's on the actual street rather than down an alley), and has nice actual windows and a real closet instead of some plywood box that sticks out into the middle of the room. However, I think the closet doesn't have a door, so my homemade closet curtain (sewn by my wonderful sister) will still come in handy.
I also got my IRA contributions mailed off, so today has been quite productive on the RL front. No fanfiction written or edited yet, though. *pouts*
Oh! Funny bureaucracy thing. So I got fired and rehired by my off-and-on New Jersey job (because I get the mail late -- it's forwarded -- and didn't sign up for a fingerprinting appointment by the deadline), and I just got my newest paycheck notice (for March). And it says it's my first of the year.
But I already got two paychecks in January.
They seem to have started a whole new set of files on me after my rehiring, so I now have two different pay records for 2004. I wonder what on earth this is going to do to my W2 forms come tax time next year?
