writing woes
Jul. 22nd, 2004 02:22 pmI've been plugging away on various fics -- mostly "Secrets" and "First You Have to Get There" -- but nothing is yet finished in rough draft, let alone ready for posting. *sigh* And lately, Ginny is getting uppitty. In "Secrets" she mucked up a scene transition, thus forcing me to add a whole new scene to chapter 7. And in "First You Have to Get There" she's managed to drag chapter 3 away from fluffy not-quite-romance into a discussion of Tom and Voldemort and Harry's weird corridor dreams from OoP. Which is NOT where I thought the story ought to be going!
I hate it when characters take on lives of their own. It gets so hard to DO anything with them.
But! We have the fascinating link where Voldemort sends Harry dreams before trying to truly possess him. And in "Secrets," I've decided that Tom manipulates Ginny through dreams before he gets enough of a link established to truly possess her. So it's all good and has resonance and stuff.
I like it when things line up like that. :-)
