What I did today:
1. Opened the store. I don't usually open (which is nice, because I am a night owl by inclination) but I think Saturday is the nicest day for opening. You don't get the weekday morning coffee rush, and most of the newspapers don't arrive until 8:30 so that's one fewer thing to worry about before unlocking the doors at 7:30.
2. Discovered that there's a chance I may not have to move! Maybe, just maybe, my landlords will build an addition to the house instead of converting it from two apartments to single occupancy. They definitely need more space -- they have three small children, a dog, and a cat -- but I think they like having the regular monthly income my rent provides. They will make their final plans within the next couple weeks. *crosses fingers*
3. Got back to "Secrets" after spending the past few days twiddling around with original fiction and a lot of reading. The scene with the twins is finished, and aside from being useful in giving Ginny one-on-one page time with all her brothers currently at Hogwarts (Ron and Percy got their shorter moments in ch. 13), it let me slip in what may become a reason why Ginny seems so happy whenever Harry notices her during the last month at Hogwarts.
Next up, Tuesday morning Herbology and a conversation with Xanthe! (Who is, I think, torn between worry, relief, and justified annoyance at the way Ginny lied to and misled her. Or not. Oh well, I'm sure it will come clear in the writing.)
