In other HP news, over the past two days I wrote chapter 3 of "Strange Likenesses," and 575 words of chapter 4. I last worked on that story in February of 2005. See, I don't leave stories unfinished forever. They may be on hiatus for quite some time, but I will finish them one of these days.

Except for "More or Less the Same," but I only write that one for my private amusement -- it was meant to be a self-insert, though the self-insert part kind of... mutated... after a chapter or two -- so that's different.

heh. is'nt it werid when you find old stuff and suddenl ydiscover hw to go o nwith it? (it's how i foud ndrabbles of some two yearsago and combined htem iwth other fragmentsand suddnly have a very long harry-centric fic.)
by the way I've read jsut about all your one-shots htis week includign the two petunia fics. and for those two I jsut wanted to say get out. of. my. brain. i've been depicting a scene of that dark mark and her dead parents for like years withotu writign it up. and harry comign back after seventh year and finall ygetting a box of saved stuff? yep. that's how it went. heh. its jsut strange. ou have these vague plto bunnies and they enver een nibble at you adn you just makea note to write them out soem da yadn the npoof! someon else accidentally finds them and you justthink 'thank you very much'

I think I wrote both "Family" and "Falls the Shadow" for 15minuteficlets challenges, although in both cases they drew on a long period of musing about Petunia, Lily, and possible background for the Evans family.

As for "Strange Likenesses," I always knew more or less what needed to happen next. I'd even known for over a year that chapter 3 had to be in Tom/Voldemort's point of view. I just didn't have any interest in the story for quite a long time. Then, out of the blue, the plot bunny woke from hibernation a couple days ago and said, "WRITE ME NOW!"

So I wrote! :-)
