on being in less-than-perfect health

I was out of work today. I woke up with a pounding sinus headache, achy joints, a sore throat, mild nausea, general wobbliness, and no energy at all. So I called in sick and slept another six hours.

It seems to have passed, whatever it was. I'm still achy and tired, but the other symptoms are gone.

In any case, once I finally dragged myself out of bed, I managed to get about 500 words of "Secrets" written. I'm fast approaching the end of chapter 8, which will probably be about 9,000 words when finished. A bit shorter than some other chapters, but a perfectly respectable length.

Also paid my rent. That was interesting -- it was so windy up here this afternoon that I could practically lean backwards and let the air push me back to my house. :-) Very nice when you're dead tired.
