I'm enjoying the current issue of UU World very much. I still need to read the article about the Founding Fathers - it's impossibly timely, IMO.

It was very interesting! Especially the bits about the contrast between Adams and Jefferson, because I've seen both of them claimed as UUs on lists and t-shirts and stuff. :-)

I don't think I have that issue yet. I've been pretty unimpressed with UU World lately, especially that incredibly lame kids' insert they started sticking in the middle each issue. What a waste of paper. But that quote is very good--I'll have to check it out this month.

The kids' insert is stupid. But I usually find at least one article or essay in each issue that I like, or that makes me think. I actually found the one on working class stuff (last issue) very interesting, though I disagreed with some of the writer's points. I think that's because I come from a professional middle class background, but I am currently working class, have been for several years, and have no immediate prospects of moving up. (Mostly because I never finished college, and going back is awkward and costs a lot of money!) So I feel somewhat caught between two worlds, and yeah, there is some awkwardness at church now and then when people ask me what I do -- they assume I'm a student, or working at a computer company or something, and then I tell them I'm a store clerk and they go "...Oh," and change the subject.
