I opened the store today (which is thankfully an easier job on Saturday than any other day of the week) and stuck around until 3pm though I was only scheduled until 2pm, because BW wanted to get some painting done (he is slowly retouching all our shelves) and it's hard to keep an eye on the counter when you're bent on your knees painting floor-level shelving units. *grin* So I leaned on the counter for a bit, and then got bored enough to do some maintenance (refilling and cleaning the bottles of flavored coffee syrups).

I had already done some other maintenance earlier -- cleaning a cupboard, sweeping the basement steps, cleaning the vacuum cleaner and changing the dirt bag -- and bundled up the week's newspapers for return, so all in all, it was a fairly productive work day.

Ithaca was doing a fairly good impression of a sauna in the early to midafternoon, so when I left work (air conditioned) I came to the library (also air conditioned) instead of going straight home (not air conditioned). But the humidity is hopefully going back down since the sunshower we had around 1pm, and I ought to get some writing done, so it is back out into unaltered weather for me.

We were doing so well having a year without a proper summer. Why spoil the pleasant low temperatures now? *sulks*
