I am doing a prompt-ficlet thing at the moment, and I am willing to keep going past five stories if anyone is interested.

This is the third one, for [livejournal.com profile] yggidee, to the prompt: Perhaps something lighthearted from Buffy? Xander being great? Set post-Chosen, but completely ignoring the season 8 comics. (675 words) [The slightly revised ff.net version is now up as well.]

I use a broad interpretation of 'being awesome' -- emotional strength is just as important as physical strength, and often more widely applicable in real life. And since Xander is the 'normal' Scooby, well... *shrug* Somebody has to take care of the practicalities!

That was cute. And well written. And cute.
I liked the addition of "and guard the blood bank," and I liked it even more with explanation of doing so to cut down on employee turnover. It makes the hospital seem more...pleading and pleased for help, less taking advantage of the situation like Buffy was assuming. Also, hee, they made it to Cleveland after all...

And if you're continuing with the prompts, I'd like to submit one for something on Aburame Shino, since he's one of the most underwritten secondary Naruto characters in fandom. (Or canon, for that matter.)

And that way, the slayers don't even have to go looking for vampires; vamps come right to them. *Has sudden urge to write Cleveland-based Buffyfic*

Trying is all I can ask. An if the muses aren't speaking to you on that subject, I can certainly understand -if lament- that. I just wish more awesome writers would find themselves really *inspired* to do fic for him- and also certain other characters- but if there's nothing there...well, it's usually pretty easy to tell when an author or writer wasn't really grabbed by their subject matter. I live in hope. ; )
