1. I wrote a few hundred words of "Strange Likenesses" ch. 6. Lalala, random theories about memories and shared consciousness and Harry angsting like an angsty thing. (Well, he has some cause.) I'm trying to figure out how best to break the "Oh, shit" moment -- I know exactly what information to convey, but I am not sure who should convey it, and where exactly the conversation should happen.

Which is annoying, because that's the only thing left in this chapter. :-(

(Why yes, it does end on a kinda-sorta cliffhanger, why do you ask? *is evil*)

2. In other news, I opened the store with JM today, since AO is on vacation until next... Wednesday or Thursday, I forget which. I am really, really not a morning person -- I can fake it when necessary, but left to my own inclinations, I do not get up before 11-ish, and go to bed around 3am. So getting up at 6am in order to be at work by 7am is slightly awkward, and my thinking is always rather iffy until 9-ish at least. *sigh*

But I survived, and I have tomorrow off. Yay!

3. Speaking of days off, tomorrow is my great experiment with grocery shopping via bus! You see, TCAT, apparently in response to public outcry, has reinstituted service to the Ithaca Mall and Tops via the #13 bus, and added Saturday service. (They had truncated its route last year, so it only went as far as Stewart Park. I was not pleased.) Since the #13 runs right past my house, suddenly shopping at Tops becomes practical. (Otherwise I would have had to walk twenty minutes into town to catch the #30, and a twenty minute walk plus a half hour bus ride is not good for perishable groceries.)

If this works out, it will be very good. A two-way bus trip costs $3, which, assuming I go shopping... oh, six times a month, would come to $250 a year at most. Whereas joining Ithaca Carshare would cost $550 minimum (assuming I am super-efficient and only need a car one hour a week), up to about $850 (assuming I use a car two hours a week). You will note the price difference.

Busses are very cost-effective if they go where you need them to go. :-)
