3 things: revised "Lemonade" chapter is up; ask me questions; tell me what to write

1. The revised version of Lemonade, chapter 17 is now up on ff.net. It includes actual descriptions of the blue insect demons (who do have a name, as does their world/dimension/planet/home; it just hasn't come up in the story yet), a bit of description of their horse-equivalents, and also some revisions to their weaponry. (In other words, their world is metal-poor and macuahuitl are dead cool -- actually, that last is all the justification I really need. *grin*)

2. On a completely different topic, here is a meme seen in many places: What kind of topics/entries would you like to see me posting? Any particular questions you've always wanted to ask me but have resisted because the answer would be a huge essay? Ever want to wind me up and watch me go on a particular topic? Anything you've heard me say "I should write that entry about [fill in topic] I've been meaning to write" and have been patiently waiting for?

3. On a slight tangent to that last, which stories are you most interested in seeing me post? I am feeling slightly directionless at the moment (mostly because a really stupid idea for a Code Geass AU with an extra fantasy gimmick has been eating my brain all day, but it is, you know, stupid despite the cool factor, and also has no plot, and the last thing I need is another novel-length WIP with no clear direction) so I would appreciate being told what to write.

I love your Naruto fic & Lemonade! Anything you want to write about world building for those would be very interesting to read, I think. And any update to "The Guardian in Spite of Herself" would be jumped upon with shouts of joy. ^_^

I will see if I can tidy anything useful out of my running background files -- they are pretty jumbled, and also written chronologically with lots of corrections and contradictions as I thought of better ideas.

Character analysis stuff? I want to wait until I've caught up on the manga, since I haven't read anything past... volume 32, maybe? But hopefully I will get that reading done soonish, at which point I will probably have a bunch of things to say. :-)

2 - I'm pretty interested in anything you post. I find the way your mind works interesting.

3 - Anything you write in fandoms I know - though I will admit to being less interested in Lemonade than I am in Guardian (squeeee!). But in your case, I don't know what I want to see until I see it. As part of our mutual admiration society, I'll read anything you post if I know the source material (which means I don't read Ofic...).

Well, ch. 13 of "Guardian" is currently at 3,950 words in rough draft, so once I finish the current conversation, I will be able to post it. (Three yeras late. *headdesk*) Also, the sidestory about Naruto, Shinnin, Sakura, Yukiko, Iruka, and Sakura's parents is now 2,225 words and looks to be at least 3,000 by the time it's done -- it was meant to be more of a 15-minute fic length, but it got away from me somewhere along the line...

What makes you prefer "Guardian" to "Lemonade"? I am just trying to get a sense of what makes stories appeal to various people, and I am honestly still kind of surprised that "The Way of the Apartment Manager" was as popular as it was (what with being OFC-centric), and since "Guardian" includes even more OCs, it's... well, it's obviously still Naruto fanfic, but it's more like, I dunno, original fiction set in somebody else's world than more standard canon-character-centric fanfiction.

Very excited to hear that! I think it says something about the storytelling that I'm eager to see more. And I am definitely looking forward to the side - maybe even more than Guardian, since I think you do those domestic character studies well. Plus I think it'll be more about the differences Yukiko's presence has created in Naruto's life, and I'm in the mood for that kind of thing today.

...and please don't hurt me for being honest. Lemonade doesn't appeal to me right now (I may not be in the right mood) since it's a bit unbalanced IMHO... I can't put my finger on it, but something about it isn't working for me. I think it might have lost me about the time Duo and Faith had sex, because Sasuke doesn't seem to be adding anything to the story right now?

As for Guardian, I think OCs that enhance, rather than overtake, the story are a good thing. You use a good mesh of canon characters with OCs, if that makes sense.

Never fear -- I asked because I want to know! And now that I think about it, you're right that "Lemonade" has been sliding towards Faith-&-Duo plus Sasuke rather than Faith-&-Duo-&-Sasuke. Some of that is because Duo and Faith have less overtly prickly/touchy personalities, and some of it's because Sasuke is being a stupid teenage boy, but yeah, I should keep an eye on that. *makes note*

Hopefully "Guardian" will not go back on hiatus after ch. 13. I... well, I inherited some money from Ardis, and after putting $5,000 into my IRA and setting another chunk aside to be invested (once I figure out which funds I like), I decided some of it might as well be for personal indulgences. Therefore, I am buying every translated volume of Naruto. All at once. So I will be able to catch up to canon and start fixing my plot to take various revelations into account.

...I will get to work editing ch. 14, then! But on Wednesday. The Editing Pen of Death requires a couple back-to-back hours of work and a clear mind, neither of which I have after a closing shift.
