Mom and I had breakfast at the Days Inn this morning (like most Days Inns, they have waffle-makers *grin*) before driving to the airport. My flight to Philadelphia left about ten minutes early, which was nice, as it gave me just that bit of extra time to eat lunch in Philly. My flight to Ithaca was also on time, and since TCAT has instituted weekend service to the airport, I was able to get home without the expense of a taxi. Hurrah!
And that is the end of my vacation. :-(
Tomorrow I will be back at work, and the next two weeks will be quite full, since ET has left the smoke shop -- he got a much better job in Corning, and he and AD (his fiancée, also a former smoke shop employee) are moving out of Ithaca soonish. We are in the middle of the usual hiring process, and have had notably more applicants (one less than half an hour after PM posted the ad on Craigslist!) than before the recession. We haven't had staff turnover for nearly two years (which is downright odd; previously we had at least one change every four to six months), so this will be interesting.
Actually, I think MS, AO, JM, and I must conspire to make sure BW does not try to train our new hire, whoever he or she turns out to be, as BW is, well, BW. He can explain the cash registers and the lottery machine, but everything else is best left to people who at least understand the by-the-book procedures (whether or not we always follow them).
I have started making the final edits on ch. 14 of "Secrets," but I expect that will take a few more days as there are a few places that need full-on rewriting/restructuring rather than simple phrase tweaks. The chapter will be the better for the changes, though, and I am really grateful to my betas!
And now to bed.
