Things I could easily live without experiencing again: getting stuck on Route 13 in the dark amidst falling snow for nearly an hour on the way home from the grocery store, due to a traffic snarl further down the hill that required at least two police vehicles and three tow trucks to unravel. I still don't know if it was a crash or just a series of cars that slewed sideways across the road and got stuck.
Fortunately I was entertained for half an hour of the wait by my mom, who called to, among other things, report that my cousin Eric's elder stepdaughter is pregnant again -- probably by her new boyfriend, rather than the guy who a blood test proved wasn't actually the father of her first child, but to whom she's still technically married because the annulment hasn't yet come through. *sigh* I have no opinion on who she chooses to sleep with, but she could at least be more careful with her birth control. Kids are a very permanent consequence, and they don't deserve to be born into somebody else's personal chaos.
---------------
In other news, it turns out I have three days off in a row next week -- Thursday through Saturday -- and I am attempting to see if I can visit Cat and get to see Alex (her son) before he's a year old. Alas, she has yet to call me back, so I am hanging in limbo. :-(
