Remix status:
I have read most of my remixee's stories, at least in the fandom I got matched on. One of them jumped out and viciously attacked me with a plot bunny that I suspect wants to be a multichapter epic thing, but which may be amenable to a shorter version. Possibly. Hopefully. So we will see how that goes.
I have also discovered that while informing people about word counts and ratings is nice and all, what I really, truly, desperately want to see when looking over a master list of stories is summaries. Failing that, even a mention of the main character(s) and/or the main pairing (if applicable) would be helpful. Because really, a title alone is almost never going to tell me anything meaningful, I enjoy stories of all lengths, and I don't honestly give a damn whether or not a story has sex -- what matters to me is who and what it is about.
So please, people. Write summaries! I promise you it is worth the effort!
This has been a public service announcement. :-)
Okay, bed now.

Date: 2011-03-23 06:00 pm (UTC)Have to admit, I'm way curious as to what you were paired in and what you'll write. Now that I know a lot of people remixing, I'm so impatiant to see what they will write!
Interesting abou the summary. I'm still struggling to write good ones. For a long time I didn't notice what it was *I* looked for as a reader in summaries was not what I as a write was giving (such as pairings/characters). Especially when most places that advertise when stories have been posted, such as Naruto News, post only titles and characters/pairings, it seems like that would be obvious...live and learn, I guess!

Date: 2011-03-23 09:15 pm (UTC)I used to not put pairing information in summaries (except implicitly by describing the plot), because I generally cared more about which characters were in the story than about which characters got together during it, but as you say, I have come to realize that people really like to know that information, so I've started tacking it on. Live and learn indeed!
