What I did yesterday: wrote 300 words of "Guardian" ch. 15 wherein I made a terrible, horrible bilingual joke that I doubt anyone will catch unless I put another few in and the pattern becomes too blatant to miss. *ponders* You know, I think I will... (2,100 words, incidentally.)
What I did today: caught a bus to the mall and saw X-Men: First Class because unlike X3 it's had decent reviews, and because, unlike the Wolverine movie, I give a damn about Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr. It was kind of spectacularly awful in its treatment of the token black and Hispanic characters (I have a passing urge to write fic attempting to give Angel some actual character development and to fix Darwin's fate, because seriously, filmmakers, that was Not On), the time frame was absurdly compressed for the strength of the friendship Charles and Erik display, and the whole ending was stupidly rushed, but aside from that, I liked it. Also, I loved Raven and I liked that Moira did get some actual things to do before she was inevitably sidelined. (Pity that her competent spying scene had to happen in her underwear, though. *seethes*)
As part and parcel of watching movies in theaters, one also gets to see trailers. My reaction to the ones I saw: don't care about Green Lantern, really do not give a damn about the Transformers flick, would almost rather be shot than see how they have bastardized Mr. Popper's Penguins (my childhood, why must you murder it???), and while I have no interest in the American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...
Who on earth did that cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" and where can I get a copy of it, because HOLY FUCK THAT WAS AWESOME.

This seems like a good place to start

Its such a delightful book but I can see no way a movie version wouldn't become all low-grade humor hi-jinks....
