Flight diverted to Elmira because of heavy fog in Ithaca. Theoretically we are getting vouchers for a bus up to Ithaca's airport, from which I can get a taxi home... very, very late. :-/

ETA, 1:00am -- Home safe! Delta did indeed arrange a bus, and I was the first of four passengers sharing a taxi to be dropped off, since I live very close to Rt. 13 and everyone else was going to hotels farther from the highway. Now I am going to unpack a bit and go to bed, because this has been a LONG DAY.

Facebook friends say all the roads in Tompkins County were closed earlier today; online video of Ithaca Falls makes it look more like Niagara. Hope you get home safely and (reasonably) comfortably!

I arrived home safely, despite fog and the nearness of Ithaca Falls. (I live about two blocks away... *bites nails*)

The internet tells me that Binghamton flooded, which is not exactly surprising -- Binghamton always seems to flood -- but which probably played havoc with the newspaper delivery business, since I believe Binghamton is the local-ish printing and storage source for our copies of the NYC papers. I remember the last time there was serious flooding down there, maybe four years ago, we spent a couple days with no copies of several titles and a lot of disgruntled customers.
