I think I may have broken my computer for good. The fans turn on fine, but nothing from the actual computer part -- not even angry beeps.

If I still have tomorrow off work (which is doubtful, since RE is already out sick and BW was feeling awful today) I will try taking it in to Best Buy, weight be damned. If not, I'll take it in on Saturday. Because there is a limit to what I can do via phone, and also I need my files!

You have my deepest empathy. It was about a month ago that the hard drive in my desktop failed. Oh, the rest of the computer self-diagnosed as fine, just... no hard drive detected.

I try to feel grateful that I have this netbook, but it's not the same. And all my music and videos were on the desktop.

And for various reaaons (mostly that I am a lazy idiot), I haven't backed up my diles on a flash drive for nearly a year. NOT GOOD.

It hurts to lose files. :-(
