I was just flipping through a couple of my stories, since ff.net has been doing strange things to formatting lately, and it ATE my semicolons in "Definitions of Romance"! And my exclamation points in "Minor Considerations"! The stupid site is making me look like a grammatically challeneged moron!

*wails and gnashes teeth*

I will have to reupload tomorrow with corrected versions. F***ing bastards.

In happier news, a week from this coming Sunday, we're combining three RE classes and holding a sort of mini Seder-redux in the annex. Should be fun, even though I can't actually eat haroset -- comes of being allergic to apples and so on.

Also, I've signed up to teach 1st grade again next year, both in fall and spring. I like teaching. I like kids. I like feeling useful. I like having a reason to shove myself out of bed on Sunday mornings.

So it's a good deal all 'round.

I had to do that recently for dashes. I'd been using "--" for long dashes because it didn't like the auto-formatted long dashes. Which is cool, since other places do that as well.

Then I looked at Foxhunt, and discovered that everything I'd posted recently had mysteriously lost the dashes.

Yes, it is. Unfortunately, it's also the most central site for an awful lot of smaller fandoms, and the only site where I can put all my stories, not just the ones for one series. *sigh*

I really need to look into getting my own website.

that site is huge and only barely and-made (what wit hsome fics bieng removed after jsut oen complained) adit's not blidn riendly either. there wa htis fucked-up plldown box to chose categories frm whch made my softwar wibble and so my irst ever mild h/g story got sorted int othe greek mythology sectin. wtf?

I expect ff.net to be big and impersonal and slightly awkward because of size and number of fandoms. I'm fine with that. I don't even much care about the random removals, since a site-owner is within his/her rights to do things like that, and I accept it as a possible consequence of posting there.

What I object to is the way it's been f***ing around with formatting lately. I've had to change my line breaks from --------------- to o-o-o-o-o-o-o, because the first type gets automatically edited out during the upload process. And now my punctuation is vanishing as well.

I can and do post any HP fic on FA in preference to ff.net, but I don't have any other sites for Naruto or the random things like my Gormenghast one-shot. I can put them on lj, but that doesn't get nearly as wide a potential audience. So it's ff.net or nowhere. *sigh*

Well there yo uhave it .I always thoughtit was nautomated site where nothign got edited in anyway. just uploading texts etc .I dont' hae aclue how they could take ot all the punctuation i na system like that.

Oh, it's not real people. But lately, something with their automatic upload program has been stripping random punctuation and formatting from people's stories.
