In the past week, while hanging around the Three Sentence Ficathon, I have written 9,925 words of girl!Arthur/Eames (...that is almost a mini bang, seriously, wtf) and 4,425 words of everything else and the kitchen sink, for a total of 14,350 words. Fourteen thousand words is more than I average a month, generally speaking.

To the left, I have not written a damn thing on my Yuletide fic, my Narnia Big Bang fic, or any of my poor posted and languishing chaptered WIPs. In fact, the only non-ficathon writing I have done is to add 300 words to my freaking GI Joe fixit fic, which pretty much nobody in the universe except me cares about anyway.

*beats head against computer desk*

Why do the words never come when and where I want them to???

inspiration comes when it wants, where it wants.
there is no forcing it, nor sometimes guiding it.
The only thing to do is close your eyes and yell "Wheeeeeeeeee!"

True inspiration is like lightning, yeah, but some days I just want workmanlike progress instead of a mad rollercoaster. Particularly when I have deadlines staring me in the face. *sigh*
