Sometime in the past few years, ff.net seems to have discontinued the "miscellaneous books" category. This annoys me, because they don't have official categories for a few of my Yuletide fandoms and you cannot post to that site without an appropriate category.

I put in a request to get two fandoms (The Girl with the Silver Eyes and Seaward) added, and also to get Wilhelmina Benedict added to the character menu for the Black Jewels fandom. That was on January 5th. The categories have not yet appeared.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for such requests to be processed? It's easier to wait if I have some idea what I'm in for.

I've never known the Pit of Voles to respond to anything.

Oh, I am not expecting a response email. But new categories do appear sometimes, and old ones occasionally sprout new character lists, so apparently some requests do, on occasion, get through. I just have no way to know how long that takes, and what makes one get approved while another is denied. *sigh*

There's still a Misc. Books Category. However, it's now unhelpfully filed not under Books, but under the general catchall Misc category:

Aha! Thank you, that will work for the Girl with the Silver Eyes fic. But I still want an actual category for Seaward, if only to encourage more people to write for it. (So far as I know, there are currently four pieces of Seaward fanfiction on the internet. I wrote three of them. This needs to change.)
