Um.

So I am supposed to be working on my Narnia Big Bang, but instead I spent the day trawling the latest Homestuck kink meme post for prompts that looked interesting, and copypasting them in case I wanted to write them later.

And then I started writing one.

Except instead of any of the vaguely gen prompts that are the sort of thing I know how to deal with, it is the one prompt that is basically nothing but shameless porn.

Which.

Uh.

...

I don't know how it is possible to read more than one or two of my stories without realizing that I don't write porn. Not because I dislike it! But because I just... don't write it. It's not where my creative imagination goes at all.

And yet somehow here I am with 3,500 words of... well, it's not porn yet -- I haven't quite reached that part of the prompt, because my complete PWP fail is still active and I have had to do a lot of set-up and lead-in -- but it's already kind of kinky (a mild kink, but even so) and there has definitely been masturbation. And within a hundred words it is going to get even more kinky, and not too long after that there will be, y'know, sex.

*entertained* Happens to the best of us sooner or later. A fandom comes along that manages to tweak that chord and lo, you find yourself writing porn. And it's not like you haven't written everything /except/ the squishy bits before.

Yeah, I mean, statistically speaking I should not be surprised. Porn does tend to happen to fandom writers sooner or later. *hands* But this story is just... well, for starters it is a kink I did not know I had, so that's been interesting to realize about myself.

I am inclined to suspect this may be hormonal in origin -- I am expecting my period within the next few days -- but who really knows!

I am sorry you aren't working on the NBB because I really, really want to read your NBB. And happy birthday, which you've been quiet about! I hope you had a happy one. As for porn... hmmm I was... closer to 40 than to 30 before I wrote my first porn. Consider it a personal growth milestone. You can get a t-shirt: Been there, done that, burned the negatives (to borrow from a day when film had negatives). I suppose it would be, Been there, done that, dipped the hard drive in an acid bath).

I keep trying to work on the NBB -- I open the file, I skim the last couple paragraphs, I check my outline notes... and nothing. I even tried to sneak up on it sideways via finishing the Calormen section of a Jadis-centric story I've had lurking on my harddrive for a couple years now, but while I was able to get that done, the success did not translate into a revival of my interest in Ilgamuth, Rabadash, Shezan, et al. :-(

Perhaps deadline pressure will work. I have often found that panic can stand in for inspiration. I suppose I'll find out this coming week.

Speaking of the story's potential quality, I finished it and I think someone else should probably look it over before I post it, because I have no idea what in god's name I am doing with the whole writing porn thing, nor whether this fic makes any sense, or is even vaguely hot, or hangs together as a story, or what. Help, please?

It's Jade/Dave, about 6,600 words. The particular kink is breast expansion via Jade's Witch of Space powers.
