edenfallingSo last night I was all, "I am going to wait a day before writing the next section of "Trollstuck," and therefore today I will work on "Secrets" ch. 15 in the vague hope of getting it done by the 10th anniversary of when I started posting that blasted story." That failed to happen.
Tonight I was all, "Okay, let's write the next section of "Trollstuck" -- fake archaeology is yay!" That also failed to happen.
...
Instead, that fic I mentioned a couple months ago wherein John and Jade deal with their dead bodies (and the corpses of their friends and families) in the first days on the ship flying across the yellow yard? That's now at 2,400 words. And has a title. ("Instant Corpse Party (Party Not Included)," FYI.) I think two more scenes might finish it?

Also I kind of had a disturbing (and/or disturbingly sexy?) daydream this morning as I was not-quite-awake yet that ties into the weird colony planet AU I dreamed about back in March, only this was about the humans' side of the story and some details on their genetic engineering program and stuff. Which took a very strange left turn into gender issues and telepathic pack-bonding and military organization and stuff. (FYI, it turns out that while the trolls set up a colony for mining purposes, the humans were there specifically to research the native psychic wildlife in hope of finding ways to counter troll psychics. Logic, I has it!)

nghhhh WANT. auuugh. I swear you'd only need to add a couple werewolves and this is all my storytelling kinks in one go. Unless you're going to add "oh and poly is a societal norm in there" on top but that'd probably kill me of toom much yays, so let's stay reasonable here. Yeah.

I hope you are ashamed of yourself for distracting me. ;-)

Stop fighting. Surrender. You are doomed. ... pretty please with a cherry on top? ;__; they could even be fairly short AND give a good picture of society evolution and technology and conflicts! they could stay snapshots
(hahaha) AND tell the story! You might even manage "from the POV of a journalist" or "Studies Report" at some point or uh okay what else can i tempt you with. Their fears and hopes about the troll war, and about what they have ~unleashed inside their own genes/population~? The first births of people who have never been anything else, have never known anyone else? People from the motherland being shipped in late in the process and being all Culture Shock because of the way things evolved and how are those people even entirely human anymore??? Eventual Troll/Human integration conflicts and understandings? both on the societal level and on the personal one? ... Ancestors shenanigans? ;_; nghhh. maaake it a veeeerse~(no subject)
