Went to the young adult dinner/meeting with A. (turned out to be spaghetti, not pizza -- hey, food is food!) and rather inexplicably ended up volunteering to be a sort of secretary/contact person. Also, we are meeting again Saturday for dinner and a poetry reading, because Ashley, another person there, is a creative writing grad student and runs weekly poetry readings.

I really, really hope this thing pans out. 'Cause I need a social life, and I am very, very bad at randomly meeting people and converting that into friendships.

Then I paid my library fine, since I somehow managed to forget I had an overdue book for about two weeks. *headdesk* My mind is like sieve, I tell you, a sieve. (Except for useless information. That I can remember forever.)

Am now off to post the latest two chapters of "Tides" on ff.net.

You are lucky to be in a congregation big enough that it's got a young singles group. In my congregation, I don't think we have ANY young singles. But we do have several members over 85...

We have, as one member puts it on the UUMoney mailing list, 200 to 500 people, depending on who's counting. (I personally think it's now more like 300 to 500 people, but things were pretty messed up until these past two years.)

We've got maybe 100 members (and have been around that number for YEARS), and we'd like to grow. I'm hoping the minister we just called will help us with that - our first minister (at all) in over 30 years :D
