being sick is exhausting
Sep. 29th, 2012 06:08 pmThank you to everyone for the good wishes! *sends virtual hugs to all*
I slept eight hours, which you would think would count as a good night's (or day's, I suppose) sleep. But after less than two hours awake, I'm completely wiped out again. At least ibuprofen and Tylenol have been keeping the fever symptoms under control? Additionally my nice new anti-nausea meds have a common side effect of drowsiness, so basically I am heading straight back to bed now that I have picked them up and taken the first dose. (I also got some saltines, gatorade, yogurt, and chicken noodle soup while I was at it.)
I have excused myself from teaching RE tomorrow for obvious reasons, but I was not able to get out of work -- unfortunately PM is out of town (and also had surgery herself early this week) and MS has family obligations, so it's not possible to swap the shift. I did get it reduced a bit, though, so instead of 12-9pm I will be working 1-8pm, and I will give AS a detailed cheat sheet and hope he manages to successfully close alone. (...Assuming he has a key by now, I guess.)
And now to bed. Again. *sigh*

Date: 2012-09-29 11:07 pm (UTC)But, slipping into mothering mode, listen to your body. You're exhausted because you need to rest and recover. And you won't do that if you try to mask any symptoms and carry on.
Please take care of yourself.

Date: 2012-10-01 02:22 am (UTC)Oh, trust me, I am ALL ABOUT the resting. :-) I spent a good portion of my time at work sitting down, my entire "lunch" break was devoted to a nap, and I also drove two thirds of the way there (and back) rather than walk the entire mile. Then I took another nap immediately upon arriving home.
Tomorrow I am going to repeat the sit-down-and-nap act, because I have no interest in dragging this illness out any longer than strictly necessary.
