One reason I know the world is not a totally dreary and awful place: chocolate maple bacon fudge exists, and I have some, and I am eating a piece of it now. :-D

Bacon fudge? Chocolate and maple sounds good, but I'm not sure how I feel about bacon fudge...

It is chocolate maple fudge with bits of actual bacon mixed in for texture and flavor. I like the combination of salt/fat/protein of the bacon with the sugar of the maple and chocolate -- it's like dipping bacon in maple syrup (which is the best part of pancake breakfasts in my opinion!) only with added fudge. YUM. :-)

It was! (A local winery had something like three industrial coolers all stocked with nothing but strange and wonderful varieties of homemade fudge... plus a table of free samples. I tried this one out of pure curiosity and then could not stop myself from buying a package. Mmmmmm.)
