Tonight I finally got around to creating a separate Homestuck fanfiction master list page, adding its link to all my other master list pages, and doing the whole process over again on LJ because internal journal links are silly if they keep shunting you to a different journal so I can't just crosspost and be done with it. (That also means I have to fiddle the code for the LJ versions, because LJ doesn't accept some of DW's simplifications. *headdesk*) This is why I hate divvying out fandoms from pre-existing pages. It is way too much work for no immediate payback.

(The long-term payback is definitely worth it, though. I just have to keep reminding myself of that while slogging through the process.)

I have updated the HP master list to include the one 3-sentence ficlet I wrote in that fandom, so it and the new Homestuck page are now up-to-date. I will add the other 3-sentence ficlets to their fandoms' relevant master lists some other day, because there is only so much background organization I can do in one night without going stark raving mad.

I also meant to respond to some reviews I've left hanging for a while, but screw it, I am out of spoons. Human interaction (even of the text-based, time-delayed, and internet-mediated sort) can wait for tomorrow.

Remember that Eliminator's troll group that was 'reviewing' your fic? One of them just pm'd me saying one of my stories was in violation of the rules. I'm still debating whether to respond or not. I don't like feed the trolls, but I remember you did have a good point about standing up to bullies.

What I have ultimately decided to do with groups like that is to ignore them in a very public fashion. In practice that means that A) I will leave their 'reviews' on my stories (even if they are technically 'anonymous' and thus within my power to delete) as demonstrations of their own stupidity, B) I will not actually respond to them if they leave signed reviews or send me messages, C) I will not take my stories down because I refuse to be intimidated, and D) I will keep a public record of their actions on my own journal (as well as save all the notification emails ff.net sends me).

I was able to have a semi-productive conversation with a person from one of the less batshit amateur patrol groups, but Eliminator seems (judging by their actions toward me) to be composed entirely of actual trolls and so there is no point talking to them. Furthermore, I suspect that ff.net's administrators may use "are the people involved in this disupte kicking up active trouble?" as a criterion for deciding whether to delete stories -- which is stupid, since the only criterion should be whether or not the rules have been broken, but hey, if they black box their decision-making process, they are the only ones to blame if people judge them by the parts they can see -- and so it is perhaps advisable to let the trolls be the only ones actively making waves.

Of course if they start leaving actual flames, then by all means report them!

I pm'd her back asking if she was a site admin. I'm fairly sure the answer is a 'no' but I wanted to see what her reply was anyway.

Her reply:
No. Just like Critics United, I am a mere user that only has the power to
report stories that break the rules. If I was, then I would have deleted it
without a warning (especially PM inbox or e-mail) at all.'

I'm just rolling my eyes here at her pretentiousness and just not going to reply anymore. Or I might just put a general reply up on the profile and leave it at that.

*headdesk* Sheesh, what a twit. Yeah, a blanket reply that you can point any further would-be vigilantes toward might be a decent idea.
