As you can see from the pictures below, my jalapeño is now taller than my bell pepper plant. *blinks* I suspect this is because the jalapeño is only now starting to flower, whereas the bell pepper has shifted all its energy into producing actual peppers... which are getting quite large!

Ah, the miracle of life. *grin*

(I have given both plants Miracle Gro twice now, but I'm not sure how much nutrition they managed to absorb before the incessant rain -- this has been the rainiest summer, I swear -- washed all the delicious chemicals away through the drainage holes in the pots. Oh well, perhaps I will try again this weekend.)

On a somewhat random side note, I find it interesting that the jalapeño flowers start out on long, skinny downward-oriented stems, whereas the bell pepper flowers were on much shorter, thicker stems with a less insistent downward curve. I guess the stems foreshadow the type of pepper they expect to support. :-)

From what I recall, jalepeno plants like more sun, so it may be growing leggier in an effort to reach more. The flowers look like it's going pretty strong, though! *cheers on the peppers*

Wow!
Look at that. You may be eating fresh, home grown produce soon.
